I refer to these pieces as fine art animations, as they belong to the genre of animatics. However, while a traditional animatic is merely a blueprint for a final work, my fine art animations are complete, finished pieces. Rather than telling a full story, they are often fleeting “etudes” or glimpses. They always depict themes that currently preoccupy me, creating a strong connection to my paintings. Technically, they are mostly created with pencil on paper, though I also utilize mixed media.
