In this series of paintings, naked female torsos appear in the same compositional framing: from the neck down to the mons pubis, with bare breasts, cropped at the arms. Technically, the first piece of the series, Torso I/1, is still realistic, while the subsequent paintings are much rawer, more instinctive, and more expressive. This duality can be seen as the manifestation of the inner self and the psyche through matter; they are memento-like articulations of vulnerability, victimhood, objectification, or abuse—reflecting the psychological breaking of a woman.

The series was given the subtitle “This is my body,” which is, on one hand, a biblical reference, and on the other, a declaration of a woman’s body and autonomy—or the reclamation thereof. Furthermore, it may also explore the complexity of the relationship we have with our own bodies.

A festménysorozatban meztelen női felsőtestek ugyanabban a kompozíciós kivágásban jelennek meg: nyaktól lefelé, vénuszdombtól fölfelé, fedetlen mellel a karoknál elvágva. Technikailag a Torzó I/1, vagyis a sorozat első darabja még realisztikus, a többi festmény pedig sokkal nyersebb, ösztönösebb, expresszívebb. Ez a kettősség lehet a belső, a psziché megnyilvánulása a matérián keresztül; a kiszolgáltatottság, az áldozatiság, a tárgyiasítás vagy az abúzus mementószerű megfogalmazásai egy nő lelki megtörésének.

This is my body, ez az én testem alcímet kapott a sorozat, mely egyrészt bibliai utalás, másrészt a nő testének és önállóságának – vagy annak visszaszerzésének – kinyilatkoztatása. Valamint a saját testünkkel való viszonyt is taglalhatja.
